Uniwipe Biodegradable Antibacterial Wipes

The same fantastic, high performance antibacterial wipes but now 100% biodegradable.
Convenient and easy to use, it's clear to see why antibacterial wipes are so popular. From quickly wiping down the kitchen counter to mopping up a spill on the go, wipes are a staple for many households, and for various industries, they’re an integral product to mitigate the spread of bacteria.

However, in recent years, both consumers and businesses have shifted to sourcing cleaning methods that are more sustainable for the planet. As a manufacturer, we were determined to develop an eco-conscious product that maintains the performance and convenience of traditional wipes, which is why we’ve created 100% biodegradable antibacterial wipes.
What are Uniwipe Biodegradable antibacterial wipes?
Biodegradable is the term used to describe a material that has the ability to be broken down into natural substances through environmental processes. When compared with recyclable products, biodegradable products tend to be made from renewable or plant-based materials. Our biodegradable antibacterial wipes are made from 100% plant-based fibres which are safe for use on hands and surfaces. With a 99.999% killing power that is effective on both bacteria and viruses, our wipes are designed to reduce cross-contamination and the spread of infection.
The launch of our 100% Biodegradable antibacterial wipes

Our new biodegradable antibacterial wipes were designed in response to the growing concern about single-use plastics. After stringent research and brainstorming, our in-house manufacturing and technical teams worked together to create Bio Clinical wipes designed to protect people from unwanted germs while also reducing environmental harm.

By combining rigorous antibacterial testing with impressive biodegradable properties, our brand new Bio Clinical wipes are perfect for eliminating the spread of bacteria and viruses across a variety of high-risk settings including hospitals, dental practices and schools.

Always looking for ways to support the transition to a greener future, Managing Director, Edward Rabey shares his thoughts in our latest blog post on the launch of Uniwipe’s new biodegradable wipes.

The rise in demand for biodegradable antibacterial wipes

“By creating a product like this, we are supporting the transition into a more sustainable future.” – Managing Director, Edward Rabey

The usage of wipes has sharply increased following the wake of the pandemic, there has become a growing pressure for wet wipe manufacturers to reduce plastic consumption throughout products alongside creating wipes that are better and more sustainable for the environment.

Each packet of our biodegradable wipes has been specifically designed to contain moisture-locking lids which help to keep all wipes wet even if the lid is accidentally left open. Additionally, our wipes have been packed using a z-fold dispense method which allows one wipe per use. Both of these design features were included with the goal of creating a product that is cost effective and reduces waste.

The key difference between biodegradable and non-biodegradable wipes is that once disposed of correctly, biodegradable wipes have the ability to be broken down naturally back into the ecosystem while non-biodegradable wipes can take up to 100 years or more to decompose.

In optimal conditions, our Bio Clinical wipes will take only six months to break down.

Our main production facility is at our head office in Scotland. This is where we ship all products from, whether it be around the UK or across the globe. UK manufacturing has many benefits for our products and services, from supply chain management to quality control and speed of service.

Our Bio Clinical wipes are available in packs of 100 with each wipe measuring at 220mm x 200mm.

At Uniwipe all our wipes are made in-house, catering for even the largest of global orders in our own UK factory. Total end-to-end control means stringent quality control and monitoring processes are continually reviewed and implemented.

This control over the supply chain means we’re able to offer unparalleled quality, service and support as we’re not dependent on other factories for our products.
