At Uniwipe, the lifecycle of a wipe starts with purposeful design in our UK manufacturing facility. We make early decisions to reduce environmental impact while maintaining the high standards required for effective infection prevention and control.
Product lightweighting ensures each wipe only uses what is necessary. Recycled materials are incorporated wherever possible to reduce reliance on virgin resources and support a more circular supply chain. In addition, we reduce plastic and introduce plastic-free alternatives while exploring safer chemistries that require less water during production.
Our next-generation biodegradable fabric reflects this approach. Designed to break down naturally at the end of its lifecycle, it delivers the same high performance while supporting long-term sustainability goals.
UK Manufacturing and Supply Chain Control
All Uniwipe products are produced in our UK manufacturing facility. This gives us full control over every step of the supply chain, from sourcing raw materials to production and packaging.
Manufacturing in the UK reduces transportation emissions linked to overseas production and supports local industry. At the same time, it improves efficiency across our operations. Our UK factory runs at maximum efficiency and works exclusively with net-zero-focused suppliers, enabling us to integrate sustainable practices directly into production.
With full control of production in-house, we can adapt quickly. Processes are continuously refined to improve sustainability and respond to customer needs without delay. This level of control keeps Uniwipe at the forefront of UK manufacturing.
Production with Purpose
Sustainability is built into every stage of production. Packaging contains up to 76% less plastic than traditional tubs and is currently mostly recyclable, with continued improvements being developed.
Waste reduction initiatives have resulted in a significant reduction of landfill and incinerated waste. Regular reviews support further reductions each year. In-house manufacturing enables close monitoring of waste streams and allows us to take direct action.
Alongside these efforts, we continue to invest in biodegradable, plant-based fabrics. These materials meet the demands of healthcare and other critical environments while supporting environmental goals.
Performance in Practice: Infection Prevention
Uniwipe wipes support effective infection prevention and control in real settings. They are developed to meet the needs of healthcare professionals, facilities teams, and workplaces where hygiene is essential.

Our biodegradable wipes break down naturally when disposed of correctly, helping to reduce long term accumulation in the environment. As disposal methods vary depending on use and local regulations, following appropriate guidance remains important. Focusing on end-of-life solutions ensures disposal aligns with wider sustainability goals, a principle we uphold throughout our UK manufacturing processes.
Giving Back to the Planet
Our commitment extends beyond the product itself. As a UK manufacturer, we have achieved a top 15% EcoVadis score and accreditation. EcoVadis is a globally recognised sustainability ratings platform that assesses businesses across environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. This recognition reflects how we improve sustainability across our UK manufacturing operations and wider supply chain.
Alongside this, we partner with MoreTrees to plant thousands of trees across Kenya, Madagascar, and Haiti, helping to support much‑needed communities while offsetting hundreds of tonnes of carbon each year. This work supports our focus on reducing emissions, cutting waste, and improving efficiency across our UK manufacturing processes.
