Everything you need to know about our new 100% biodegradable wet wipes

At Uniwipe, we’re proud to have released our brand new 100% biodegradable wet wipes that are not only effective for your needs, but also better for the environment. We understand the importance of protecting our planet and making the transition to more sustainable products and that’s why we’ve created an eco-friendly alternative to traditional wipes.

Throughout this blog post, we discuss everything you need to know about our new 100% biodegradable antibacterial wipes, from the size and super soft fabric of each wipe to testing standards…

Our Bio Clinical wipes are 100% plastic-free meaning the wipes do not contain harmful plastics and are instead made from plant-based fibres which have the ability to safely decompose over a six-month time period. The purpose behind creating our plastic-free wet wipes was to give our customers the opportunity to reduce their environmental impact while still enjoying the same incredible quality as seen throughout all of our other products.

Super soft fabric

One of the many impressive features of our biodegradable wipes is the super soft fabric that each wipe is made of. Nobody wants to be using wet wipes that cause skin irritation or feel rugged and harsh, which is why our team has focused on creating a premium fabric that is gentle on skin and surfaces while still being 99.999% effective at killing bacteria and viruses.

Testing standards

At Uniwipe, we pride ourselves on having products which are tested to the highest industry standards. We understand the value of using cleaning products which are safe, efficient and sustainable and every single product we create undergoes rigorous testing to ensure it meets the highest standards possible.

Testing standards are a sure-fire way to guarantee that every cleaning and disinfectant product you use maintains the same level of quality and efficiency – no matter what environment, setting or product/packet you use. For example, our biodegradable antibacterial wipes are tested to EN14476 and EN16615, meaning they can be used in a variety of settings including medical environments, hospitality and workplaces.

European Standards (EN) are recognised as the certifications that cleaning and disinfectant products are awarded after successfully passing a number of meticulous tests. Without these standards, products could be sold without containing any real ability to eliminate bacteria or viruses.

As touched upon in one of our previous blog posts, packaging is becoming an issue throughout many industries and companies are turning to new and innovative ways to package their products without using excessive plastic or non-recyclable materials. Demonstrating our commitment to reduced packaging and recycling, our production and packing methods use up to 76% less plastic than wipes stored in tubs.

It’s not just packaging that can be an issue, it’s also the entire production process. It’s very common for companies to outsource their manufacturing to other countries, increasing their carbon footprint. At Uniwipe, we produce all of our products in-house from our local UK based facility. This not only gives us a rare advantage of being able to manage our energy consumption and waste management but it also means we have complete control.

Wipe size

The size and quality of our wipes provide a convenient and effective way to clean a variety of surfaces while also offering excellent value for money. Each wipe is generously sized and covers a significant surface area making cleaning quicker and more efficient – this is particularly useful when cleaning large areas such as classrooms, kitchens or offices.

Our Bio Clinical wipes have a contact time of only 30 seconds – showcasing how fast acting our antibacterial wipes are. When compared to smaller wipes, our wipes hold more cleaning solutions, so they can be used for longer periods of time before needing to be replaced.

Alcohol-free wet wipes – such as our new line of 100% biodegradable wipes – are a great option for those who want to avoid the drying and potentially irritant effects of alcohol on their skin or surfaces. It’s always reassuring to know that the wipes you are using have been dermatologically tested making them safe for the skin while also helping to reduce cross-contamination.
