Channel 4 star fronts New Year COVID-19 cleaning campaign for education
Educating Yorkshire’s Matthew Burton partners with cleaning manufacturer Uniwipe on a campaign to help schools navigate the complexities of cleaning since the pandemic
Star of Channel 4’s Educating Yorkshire and headteacher Matthew Burton is fronting a new campaign for anti-bacterial wipes manufacturer, Uniwipe, to help the UK education sector navigate the complexities and continuing challenges of cleaning in the post COVID-19 era in 2021.
Uniwipe launched the campaign after its research of education professionals with responsibility for maintaining good hygiene in schools found that eight in 10 had never felt so much pressure to keep their school’s hygiene to a high standard since the onset of COVID-19. Key stresses highlighted include the time it takes to clean (31%), the sourcing/availability of hygiene items (15%) and lack of clear cleaning guidance (11%).1
To help address these key pressure points as schools start Easter term and enter the new year, anti-bacterial wipes brand Uniwipe has developed a free, downloadable whitepaper, Wipe Away Worry – How to keep schools safe and clean in the COVID-era. It includes sections on myth-busting, what cleaning excellence looks like in an educational setting and a cut-out-and-keep guide to keeping cleaning consistent. Matthew will be helping to share the whitepaper with a video campaign aimed at the education sector.
Matthew Burton, Headteacher at Thornhill Academy, Dewsbury said: “Cleaning, social distancing and class bubbles may never have entered our minds when we first set out on our educational journeys, but they’re our current reality in 2021. Each of us is going above and beyond what could ever be expected of educators and we’ve faced enormous challenges along the way. To tackle this new normal we all need the right information at our fingertips and that’s why I think this white paper by Uniwipe is a great resource that will help guide us through the obstacles we continue to navigate as we start the new year. I’d encourage all those responsible for school hygiene to download it and have a read.”
Edward Rabey, Managing Director, Uniwipe Europe said: “Teachers, educational professionals, school staff, and schools themselves have never been under as much pressure. Safety was and is of huge concern and the margin for error in cleaning and hygiene is extremely tight, which is only exacerbated by conflicting arguments and a myriad of information sources. We’re delighted to be working with Matthew Burton on sharing the whitepaper and we’re confident it will be an invaluable resource for educators this year.”
